We love the idea of promoting artists AND doing it as sustainably as possible. Sometimes it starts with asking an excellent print shop to work with you. Dane Myers did just that. He worked with Ink Bros in Orlando.
Dane was trying to figure out how to have merch, but not just create more pollution by getting brand new shirts. The life cycle of your average t-shirt adds stress to the planet through sourcing materials, dyeing, shipping, disposal and more.
Sourcing shirts at thrift store helps reduce a big part of their negative impact. But would a print shop work on shirts they don’t provide, especially worn ones?
Well, Ink Bros was up for the adventure. They created stencils from Dane’s design, and started screen-printing.
It’s really fun to watch how they make the shirts. There are more steps to it than you realize if you haven’t been involved in the process before.
