Ethan was inspired immediately when Mike first pitched the idea of Sea Us Rise. What he thought would merely be happy hour chatter crystalized quickly with purpose and energy into what you see today. Since its inception, Ethan has used his experience and connections as a professional musician on the Sea Us Rise project to help create a music-meets-activist platform not only to aid the climate change movement, but also to promote, connect, and benefit the community of musicians that join the cause.

“I’ve reached a point in my life where I’m starting to think about how I want to leave this world. Sea Us Rise has been a unique avenue through which to combine my passion for music with a growing, global movement. If we don’t act immediately, St. Petersburg in Florida, USA, and many other cities around the world, could soon be irretrievably damaged by air and sea pollution, volatile temperatures and rising sea levels. I am fully aware that music, in and of itself, won’t solve the climate change crisis, but I am hoping that through our combined efforts, Sea Us Rise will raise awareness and create meaningful momentum.”

Ethan holds B.M. and M.M.T. degrees from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy. He is a local band director with a determination to challenge the way we view music education and firmly believes that music is vital to a healthy and functional society.
